Getting Feedrates to insert WITHOUT the prefixes

Postby cnczane » Thu Aug 17, 2017 7:55 pm

I have had a long-standing annoyance in my post processor in which I tried to assign the current plunge and horizontal feedrates to variables in LinuxCNC.

The clue was here (Old Posts, Good):

My .con/post file had no line for the [FP] and [FC] internal MC variables, so they were getting a default treatment.

FORMAT = [FC|@||1.2]
FORMAT = [FP|@||1.2]
similar to what I found in a Shopbot config file, means that a reference to [FP] in the con file returns JUST the number, without the "FP" prefix.
If you have not received a reply from me in over a year, I am not ignoing you: more likely I am fallen asleep under a tree. Again. Please poke me if you think it worth your trouble.
