Forgot to mention the details, MeshCAM Art was used to create the toolpaths. However, since I do not have proper tooling to work with, many of the fine details were hand finished using a Dremel tool. But the basic shapes were accomplished completely by MC Art.
These pieces are carved in laminated Oak (recycled tractor-trailer floor). The material is 1.125" thick before machining, and average 0.75" thick afterwards. (EXCEPT the Marine Corp, which ended up being about 0.375" thick because of the extended height of the globe). Sizes vary by the piece, from 8.5"x11" to 11"x11".
All artwork was created in Corel Draw, and perimeter cuts were simple rectangles created in CAD and imported into Artsoft's LazyCAM.
Enjoy!
