Hi,Randy

I appreciate the quick response of you.
But since I have poor ability to understand English, I do not understand well.
I will consider it at a later time for a while.
Thank you.

OK, Kiyoshi. (Almost) no words! :)

Start with dots.dxf (in zip below). It is 40 x 30mm with 2mm circles in it.

Bring into Paint Shop and add gray (ignore the circles):

Bring dots.jpg into MeshCAM:

dots-jpg-input.jpg
dots-jpg-input.jpg (36.07 KiB) Viewed 3416 times

And mill the surface:

dots-jpg-milling.jpg
dots-jpg-milling.jpg (301.48 KiB) Viewed 3416 times

Then bring dots.dxf into MeshCAM:

dots-dxf-input.jpg
dots-dxf-input.jpg (87.07 KiB) Viewed 3416 times

And drill the holes:

dots-dxf-drilling.jpg
dots-dxf-drilling.jpg (119.5 KiB) Viewed 3416 times

Notice that the X-Y-Z size is the same on both inputs, and you make the X-Y-Z origin to be the same on both inputs.

It is two steps, but you have both input files already.

I'm sorry, I can not understand yet.
How is in an actual case of the following?

2D shape data is jpg file that is attached.
External dimensions is X = 60.3mm, y = 59.4mm and z=3.0.
(Dimensions of the finished gear is 55mmΦ)
So, I want a through hole 2mmΦ in the center of the gear.
using the end mill 2mmΦ.

There is no need to hurry.
Best regards.

Kiyoshi, I need the DXF file. This board will not accept DXF files, so please put it in a zip file to attach.

Hi Randy,

did a short tracing and export to dxf so you can work with it.

Hope this helps.

Richard, thank you, but I want to show Kiyoshi how he can use his own DXF input file. The boundary tracing is only an approximation of his CAD output.

For this gear, there is really no reason to go through the JPG step at all, unless of course the face of the gear is contoured...

Randy,

of course tracing is only an approximation, but I wanted Kyoshi to show how easy it would be if he would use a CAD file instead of a jpg file.

Yes, that is my point. Kiyoshi does start with a DXF CAD file:
So, I draw a planar shape in 2D CAD, and output to 2D dxf file it.

Then add color brightness corresponding to the high-low parts using Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2.
File that can be Expot from Paint Shop is jpg file etc.
