Observation about CutViewer-Mill 3.2 hang under Linux WINE

Postby cnczane » Sat Dec 21, 2013 7:06 pm

I've mostly run CutViewer-Mill in Linux (Ubuntu 10.04 here) having installed WINE. (http://www.winehq.org/about/).

I noticed right away that it would hang (become unresponsive) in certain situations, esp. for example when loading a second NC file after having finished a simulation of an earlier one.

I have discovered since (I think) a preventive measure to avoid this hanging condition.

Even although the simulation has finished, it seems if I press the "Stop" (an icon of a green square) and "Rewind" ("Reset") (two green left arrows), I can load a new file successfully.

I've gotten into the habit of hitting "Stop" "Rewind" after every simulation.

FWIW YMMV.

Cheers! and Merry Christmas!

If you have not received a reply from me in over a year, I am not ignoing you: more likely I am fallen asleep under a tree. Again. Please poke me if you think it worth your trouble.
